You shaped a nation’s noble form.

Your love turned night to brighter day.
O Druk Gyalpo, the people sing,
Your name shall through the ages ring.
Guardian of peace, our nation’s flame,
Forever we honor your sacred name.
In fields and forests, whispers tell,
How you served your land so well.
Gross National Happiness, your dream so true,
A gift eternal from you to you.
With courage deep and vision wide,
You led with heart, not only pride.
You walked with the humble, stood with the strong,
Taught us the meaning of right and wrong.
A King who listens, a father wise,
With kindness shining in your eyes.
When time shall fade and years grow old,
Your story still in hearts is told.
Of a King who ruled with love, not fear,
The light of Bhutan—forever clear.
