Rouse thyself, the benign Dragon Kingdom, In celebration of exquisite greatness and wisdom, To honor the selfless, zealous Crown, The glorious one who came to the throne so young, Whose splendor the heavens have sung.
You took charge of the country, Assumed the subject’s anguish, Led us through the dark days, With hope, courage, and strength.
The emblem of peace and compassion, The arm which nurtured the nation, Raised to shield us from all internal friction.
The mountains bow in deference To Your altruistic devotion to the country, The trees and birds sing the words of Your brave legend, And the subjects prostrate to the Avalokiteshvara For the gift of You.
And on this merry day, The mighty Dragon roars the chant: “Trashi Delek, the King, Father of Bhutan!”
