He rose as dawn over the Dragon Land,
A boy of sixteen, yet wise and grand.
With a heart of gold and a spirit bright,
He led Bhutan into the light.

A king so young, yet strong and true,
He dreamed for all, not just for few.
Through mountain winds and prayer flags high,
He taught the world that joy can’t die.

He spoke of happiness, not gold,
Of hearts that shine, not crowns that hold.
His words became Bhutan’s song,
A melody that keeps us strong.

He built with love, he ruled with grace,
Peace and progress filled this place.
Then humbly, like the setting sun,
He passed the crown — his work well done.

Yet still he walks these sacred hills,
In every breeze, his wisdom fills.
The Fourth Druk Gyalpo — our nation’s pride,
Forever with us, side by side.

On this, his seventieth year of birth,
We celebrate his light on earth.
May joy and health forever stay,
